Choosing a wedding caterer is not an easy thing. Why is that so important and what should a competent wedding caterer know? We’ve asked our outstanding specialists in wedding catering in Toronto, and here’s what we’ve learned.

First of all, there are plenty of details you need to discuss with your caterer, and some of them can influence the whole wedding atmosphere! The style and type of service, the experience people get at the wedding, – all this depends to a great extent on your wedding caterer.

Food has always been a way to bring people together. Almost every social meeting, family reunion or other celebration cannot go without it. But the wedding is, by no means, the most memorable occasion, and you want the menu to show how special it is. Think of well-loved family recipes, signature cocktails or favorite meals… For example, the dessert that you enjoyed at your very first date can be offered now to your guests at a wedding. Then it is not just another dessert, it is already personalized and has its history that your friends would love to dwell on.

Most Important Things that Your Wedding Caterer Should Know

A good caterer should know and respect the preferences and wishes of the client, and a wedding catering company, therefore, must also be chosen very accurately. Maybe you consider design of the menu to be the most important? Or maybe your granny or other special guests must always have the best service at the wedding? It’s best if you inform the caterer about your priorities and be sure you can rely on him.

Apart from this, budget is always a crucially important topic. Be realistic, think it over carefully basing on your priorities, and then share your plans with your caterer. Our caterers can accommodate you best by helping you in finding a creative but practical solution, and they can also point out too extravagant things that lead afterwards to big numbers.

If you’ve decided to invite some little guests to the wedding, let the caterer know about it, so that you can discuss all the details. It goes without saying that children invited to the party should be as welcome as the adults, and it’s a good idea to make a separate attractive presentation for them.

Most Important Things that Your Wedding Caterer Should Know

Here is one big detail often overlooked by couples: count from their vendor. Make sure that you include everything in your budget: a musical band, photographers, planners or DJ should also be offered meals, though the timing is usually different. It would be useful, too, to ask about their dietary restrictions or allergies in advance.

Your own food preferences and those of the guests should also be taken into account in any case. The personalized design of the menu where there are many dishes you like most is a reasonable thing for your wedding. In such a way everybody feels included.

And the last, but not the least, make sure you work out the right timing and logistics with your caterer. The experts from our wedding catering in Toronto will calculate every detail: for example, where the loading and unloading will take place, or what the alcohol policies in this area are, or who will take away all the furniture and the rubbish after the party.

As you can see, there is much to be thought of. So prepare some ideas and feel free to contact our wedding catering company in order to have a memorable wedding without any complications!

Most Important Things that Your Wedding Caterer Should Know

Every year one can observe food trends come and go, the new ones are everywhere in mass media and restaurants. But how can you incorporate them into a wedding menu? Here we tell about some brand-new food trends in 2017 and what wedding catering companies think about them.

What is Kimchi?

Kimchi is a very spicy Korean dressing which they make from fermented cabbage, and many seasonings. They serve kimchi as a special side dish.

What is so interesting about it?

The dish has always been loved in Korea, locals even say “kimchi” meaning “cheese”, when posing for a photo. As Korean street food cafes and restaurants became more popular in big cities like Glasgow or London, kimchi appeared on the plates (and, of course, in Instagram) of people everywhere in the UK.

Is it good for a wedding?

We’d give it 2 points from 5. Some love spicy food, but, however, this is not the best choice to be taken, when you want to please the majority of wedding guests. The hard task of catering for guests of various nationalities, tastes and ages at the same time makes one opt for a much more neutral main dish. Nevertheless, we suppose is may be used as a part of original canapé at a wedding, if you wish to give it a try.

What is Poke?

One should pronounce it as “po-kay”. Poke is an appetizer, originally from Hawaii; in order to make it, they dice raw fish, marinate it then in a sauce based on soy, in some cases customize it with nuts, spring onions, avocado or seaweed. Recently, thanks to Asian influence, many were inspired by kimchi or wasabi and the way of serving this dish with rice.

What is so interesting about it?

Poke has recently appeared in many restaurants, and it presents an interesting alternative to already known ceviche and sushi.

Is it good for a wedding?

Our professionals in wedding catering in Toronto would give it 4 points from 5. One can serve poke as an exquisite canapé or a starter, especially in summer. This dish is easy to customize and can be catered to different tastes. Poke is a relatively new food trend and that’s why may become a new topic for a conversation at your wedding.

What is “Dude Food”?

This is all that, we know, is so unhealthy but, still, so irresistibly tasty: nachos, chicken wings, burgers… All kinds of fast-food seducing us everywhere we go.

What is so interesting about it?

At the same time when healthy way of living is in fashion, the popularity of food festivals, street food stalls, pizza restaurants and artisan burgers has somehow even increased, thanks to massive advertising in mass-media.

Is it good for a wedding?

Well, an experienced wedding catering company would give it 3 points from 5. On the one hand, it can perfectly help you out if you make it an “evening food” and offer it with alcohol. On the other hand, it may be considered as a lack of taste if you add it to the breakfast at a wedding.

Local, fresh and organic…this all is extremely popular in the world of food at the moment. Everybody wishes their dairy and meat products to be naturally grown and bought from local farmers, and of course, it’s a good decision to support the local producers.

Maybe you think that a brunch menu is not necessary at a wedding, but modern wedding catering companies would suggest you to make it. A lot of couples opt now for weddings at daytime because it is trendy, and often more economic than the usual afternoon or evening weddings.

Interactives and Games

The former wedding catering style where guests sit at tables and meals are carried out to them, has, without any doubt, its pluses, but nowadays guests enjoy some activities at a party.

That’s why, interactive stations have tremendous success: guests do not only eat, but also have some fun and pleasant surprises along with their dishes. Specialists from catering companies believe that the best way is to create entertainment stations of your own type. They are fashionable, and you can use different kind of foods, such as french fries, ice cream sundaes, nachos, etc. It’s also a good way to implement some snacks while making them appear as something fancy.

Living Chic like in a Movie

In spite of the remake of the classic 1920s era film “The Great Gatsby” that we saw some years ago, such a garden-party speakeasy style appears to be very fashionable even now, when wedding catering is concerned.

Vintage cocktails, such as the Mint Julep, Sidecar and Manhattan are also a great hit at the moment, and they can be done with trendy alternations. As for champagne fountains, they are very popular once again, and can add a shine of luxury to a wedding.

A Cake which is not exactly a Cake…

Don’t worry, we don’t mean some inedible decorative cake. What we mean is that alternatives to traditional wedding cakes have become very popular recently.

In former years, cupcakes were most fashionable, but at the moment we can observe towers of French macarons, crepe cakes, donut cakes, and some other very unusual ideas. One can express himself and do something non-traditional, for example, serve various pies (it’s great for weddings with rustic theme) or some cheesecakes.

When wedding catering is concerned, everyone understands that a lot depends on the competence of your caterer. Choose professionals who can bring your ideas to life to the best advantage.

Crafting an unforgettable wedding celebration involves more than just selecting the perfect venue and attire; the culinary experience plays a pivotal role in creating lasting memories. From the elegance of a personalized menu to the charm of thematic catering options, the journey to a memorable wedding feast is filled with decisions that echo the couple’s unique tastes and preferences.

Non-alcoholic drinks seem to be the new trend for Toronto wedding catering in 2017. Approximately one fifth of the people who attend your wedding go for the non alcoholic drinks. Below are some mocktails and soft drink options developed to cater for health conscious guests at your luxurious wedding.

More Non Alcoholic Drink Ideas

If you feel mocktail is not for you, then there are tons of other ideas you can consider for your guests.

  1. Botanical fizzy drinks: Botanical fizzy drinks are cheaper and a good choice especially if you’re wedding in summer.
  2. Iced tea: Iced tea is another great choice. It is very popular in weddings today. Depending on the number of guests and the reception setup, you can serve it in glass bottles or fill it in a large dispenser and let guests serve themselves.
Tips For Choosing The Best Drink

When choosing non alcoholic drinks, be sure to go for those that compliment the food you will be serving. People are usually keen on pairing the alcoholic wines with food but forget to do the same with non alcoholic drinks.

You can also create your own recipe and give your guests the honor of drinking your own creation. Play around with a few ingredients and create something unique that amazes everyone at the wedding. Don’t forget some cute tiny cocktail umbrellas to improve the presentation.
