Located in the St Lawrence neighbourhood of downtown Toronto, the St Lawrence Centre for the Arts was designed by Gordon S Adamson and associates, and opened for the first time in 1970. The complex houses two auditoriums, the Bluma Appel Theater and the Jane Mallett Theater. Both theaters were renovated in the 1980’s and renamed by substantial support by the late Mrs Bluma Appel and in tribute to the Canadian actress Jane Mallett’s life and accomplishments. The centre went under further renovation to the theatres exterior and interior in 2007.
